I Heart This Thursday

I Heart This Thursday | March 2023

Welcome to I❤TT, a discussion thread for sharing stuff you love because we need more of that in life.

I haven’t been on TikTok for several months now and I mostly don’t miss it. There are a few accounts I missed enough to seek out on YouTube. One of them was the 3 Southern Cats and Momma. It’s still called that even though there’s now a fourth cat! I love them all so much. Here’s a random video for a taste.

LOVE

Please talk about or post a link, or two links, or even 5 links to things that bring you joy. Can be something cute your kid or pet did, a piece of art, a song, a book, a short story, an article, a video, posts from social media, anything.

And if these discussions are a source of joy for you, please do share this link with others who might need a space for talking about what we love.

  1. My happy thing is that a restaurant in walking distance of my house, Paris Banh Mi Café & Bakery, has boba tea, banh mi, and I just tried this little pastry that tastes a lot like Danish puff pastry! Different textures, and sweeter, but I can get my fix for almond pastry without all the prep work and baking! There’s also a PokeStop there, though I’ve not been playing as much.

  2. I am very excited about my new short haircut. I’ve been “just living with” my long-ish hair for … I dunno … 12 or 15 years? To the point where I just stopped looking in the mirror. It was so fun to have a stylist play with my hair and make me LOOK again.

  3. My Kiva loan got fully funded in about a week! I’m so excited that I get to do more with my little jewelry business! I’m so grateful to have such a wide, compassionate and generous network of friends, colleagues and acquaintances.

  4. catechmeyer@yahoo.com .I am a 70 year old white librarian. Just read “Ruby” and loved it. I hope the kids around me love it as much as I do. Excellent writing–very clear snapshot of your neighborhood. Good, subtle examples of micro-aggression and how the people handled it. I really liked your people AND your alien!!

  5. March is always my favorite month, with my Pi Day birthday. This March is even more special because I’ve just started a 2 week mini-sabbatical from work to concentrate on writing. It’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever given myself.

  6. If I get stuff for tacos, Son 2 will make dinner. He’s bribing me to get more tacos. It’s working.

The woman in your video sounds just like my cousin. ?

  7. Katrina “killed” my New Orleans workshop, but the former members are publishing. three just announced work
    coming out

  8. Right now Lockwood & Co is my happy place. I burned through it in 2 days and a male rewatching it with my flatmate, and I also started reading the novels the Netflix series is based on. While I wish the books were a little more ethnically diverse the TV series does better. In fact the casting for George and Flo Bones are absolutely perfect and I ship them like FedEx.
